Bells Of New York is one of the Crown Jewels in Network’s catalogue. Indeed is one of House Music’s most iconic recordings.
Its’ release in 1994 created “what the hell is this” hysteria with the hypnotic piano led beats suddenly stopping before merging into a slowed down hip hop break and then back into that naggingly irresistible groove conjuring up a unique new sound. Network’s typically surreal hype machine built up the mystery by pretending the recording was made in Tribeka New York when actually it was created in downtown Stafford by Mark Archer of Nexus 21/Altern 8 fame in conjunction with Danny Taurus.
Everyone involved has always been wary of remixing something so special, but this year Mark tentatively reached out to trusted House heads to see what they could come up with. The results are here; four joyous deconstructions to relish by Shadow Child, Ewan McVicar, and Jamie Roy.
We were shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Jamie Roy. His family have given permission for his remix to be issued and we dedicate this release to him.

Lovin this set of remixes. All the way from techno and jackin house to old skool rave revival and D&B. And fantastic packaging / marketing - good job all round! Steady J
